Tsuba End Of Year Interview - Jordan Peak /

Highlights of 2011?

Lots to choose from, really had fun this year. Releasing music on my favourite labels, playing some amazing parties, meeting great new people, discovering some incredible records & new artists, if 2012 is just half as fun as this year then I can't wait for it to start.

What artists do you tip for great things next year?

Keep a very, very close eye on Quell and Sam Russo, both in my opinion are set to take 2012 by storm.

What's coming up for you in 2012?

Pretty much the same as what I've got up to this year. Theres releases on One Records, Robsoul, Klasse Recordings, Morris Audio and House Sound Recording all for release in early 2012. Remixes for DJ W!ld on Jonk, JMX on 2020 Vision, Nick Lawson on Back To You and i'm also doing a Remix for Argy's album "Fundamentals" on Ibadan.  Plus lots of cool gigs coming in the new year so basically i'm just going to try having much fun as humanly possible.

Top 5 tunes of 2011 with a line about each?

Really hard to narrow down my top records of the year to just 5 but heres a few that really did it for me (in no particular order)

Nina Kraviz "Okain's Scream" (Sebo K Remix) [Tsuba]

A remix of a remix, doesn't get much more confusing that that. Sebo K just brought that little something extra to what was an already an outstanding track that really did the damage whenever and wherever this got played

Wadsworth "Lime And Pink" [One Records]

Kris Wadsworth that bad ass hombre from Detroit on One Records, Subb-an and Adam Shelton's outstanding imprint for quality underground house music, the phrase "match made in heaven" springs to mind

Gemini "Where Do I Go" (1997 Mix) [Robsoul Recordings]

Proof that really good music is timeless. Originally released on Cyclo in the late 90's Phil Weeks hand picked some of his favourite tracks from the infamous Spencer Kincy's back catalogue to expose a new generation of house lovers who might not be aware of the maniacal genius of Gemini

DJ W!ld "Bizaz" [The W Label]

My most charted artist of 2011 and one of the DJ's who has really blown me away every time I have seen him play, to say Guillame had a good year would be an understatement. Really excited to have had the chance to do a remix for an upcoming releases of his, look out for that in early 2012

Mr. G "Got That Swing" [Bass Culture]

Colin McBean, a genuine living legend. Someone that has been so consistent
over the years with every release. Raw house music at it's very best, you
can count on one hand the number of times I've played a set without playing
a Mr. G track
