Tsuba End Of Year Interview - Bearweasel /

Highlights of 2011?
The couple of gigs I did at fabric have got to be standouts for me, as I adore that club and the people who run it.
Also, partying with friends at the NRK party at Panorama Bar in January was superb. Oh, and Newcastle United's start to the season has pleased me. I emphasise 'start'.
Top 5 tunes of 2011 with a line about each?
I'm not going to talk about Tsuba here because we're on the Tsuba page but needless to say there's been some killers on that front.
DJ Qu 'Gymnastics' - Strength Music
I love Qu another modernist in terms of house, but he never loses the essence of house music. An unadulterated legend in my book.
Lawrence 'Sorry Sun'
Hard to pick this one out, Lawrence has had a superb year and all of his output has been brilliant
Anything by XDB
Forward thinking, modern deep house something that doesn't happen enough.
Anything by Conforce
Insanely talented and his debut lp is fantastic.
Skudge 'Phantom' Don't really need to say much about these guys everything they've done has been strong.
What artists do you tip for great things next year?
Nyra, who has releases coming with Freunde Der Famille and Never Learnt (see below) will do very well I hope. October will undoubtedly go from strength to strength and A Sagittariun is a name worth of attention.
What's coming up for you in 2012?
A new label with my very good friend Cian Frawley, entitled Never Learnt. A remix for Donnacha Costello's Look Long label, a track on Stojche's Argumento label alongside Ryo Murakami and Franklin De Costa (it's a various artists thing), a single for Look Long and a single for Tsuba asap. There's also a few other interesting things, like a collaboration with Luke Solomon and a few remixes which I'm working on at the moment. Hopefully there'll be more releases this year, 2011 was the year of me being a lazy bastard.
